Adam Buseck

Adam Buseck begins his third season as assistant coach with the University of Denver mens soccer team after helping the 2008 Pioneers to a 10-7-2 overall mark while going 8-1-1 in Mountain Pacific Sports Federation play this season.
Buseck was named assistant mens soccer coach in August 2007. During his first season with the Pioneers, Buseck helped lead DU to a 10-4-4 record.
Buseck came to Denver after serving two seasons as head coach at Laramie County Community College (LCCC). After taking over the post on Jan. 24, 2004, Buseck helped lead the Golden Eagles to the 2005 National Junior College Athletics Association (NJCAA) Region IX Championship over Western Nebraska Community College. This win was the first Region IX title for the LCCC mens soccer program. The Golden Eagles eventually fell in postseason play to Jefferson College at the NJCAA Plains District Tournament in Kansas City, Mo.
Prior to becoming head coach, Buseck served as an assistant coach at LCCC, beginning in the teams inaugural season in 2002 under legendary Wyoming high school coach Kosta Tsandes.
Buseck began his coaching career in 1997 as an assistant at Drake University, his alma mater, and took over as interim head coach in the spring of 1998.
After starting for four-years on Drakes soccer team, Buseck pursued a professional career as goalkeeper for the Minnesota Thunder for two seasons and with the semi-professional Des Moines Menace for four seasons.
Buseck holds a bachelors degree from Drake University. He and his wife, Rebecca, have a daughter, Nora, who was born in January 2006.e a daughter, Camryn.

David Korn

David Korn is in his second season as a volunteer assistant coach of the University of Denver mens soccer team. During his first season with the Pioneers, Korn helped the team to a 10-7-2 overall mark while going 8-1-1 in Mountain Pacific Sports Federation play this season.
Prior to Denver, Korn served as an assistant coach at Lafayette College in 2007, when Korn helped lead the Leopards to a 10-4-6 record and a berth in the Patriot League Tournament championship game.
Prior to Lafayette, Korn had several coaching stints, mostly at the club level. Most recently he was the director of coaching at the Foothills Futbol Club, the second largest club in Southern Arizona. At Foothills, he oversaw the implementation and education of more than 35 coaches.
While at Foothills, Korn also served as head coach and the director of sponsorship/fundraising at the Tucson Soccer Academy. Additionally, Korn was an assistant varsity coach and junior varsity head coach at Salpointe Catholic (Ariz.) High School, where he helped guide Salpointe to the 5A State Finals.
Korn was the head coach for the Youth Olympic Girls Program (YOP) from 2004-06 and the Canyon Del Oro Soccer Club from 2001-05. He has worked at various soccer camps, including ones at UCLA, Santa Clara and Duke.
Korn was the 2007 AZ Youth Soccer Association Coach of the Year. In 2003 and 2004, Korn was nominated for the Boys Youth Soccer Coach of the Year Award. Korn was named Southern Arizonas Youth Referee of the Year in 2003.
Korn graduated from the University of Arizona with a degree in business management in 2007. He currently holds a USSF B License.

Ryan Pflugrad

Ryan Pflugrad is in his third season as assistant coach of the Pioneers. Pflugrad helped the Pioneers to a 10-7-2 overall mark while going 8-1-1 in Mountain Pacific Sports Federation play, along with its first conference title and the programs first NCAA National Tournament appearance since 1970.
During his first season with the Pioneers in 2007, Pflugrad helped lead DU to a 10-4-4 record.
He spent the 2006 season with the Wake Forest University mens soccer staff, where he helped the Demon Deacons reach the mens College Cup semifinal and capture the ACC regular season championship.
Prior to Wake Forest, Pflugrad spent 2005 as an assistant at High Point after serving the 2004 season as an assistant coach at Elon.
In addition to his duties at Wake Forest, Pflugrad served as the coach for North Carolina 89 Boys ODP team that won the ODP national championship in Frisco, Texas, in March 2007.
Prior to Elon, Pflugrad was an assistant womens coach at Goucher College (MD) during the 2002 and 2003 seasons. While at Goucher, Pflugrad helped the Gophers turn an 0-16-2 record into an 8-7-4 record the following season, making it the second largest turnaround in NCAA soccer for all divisions that year. Pflugrad later served as the interim head womens coach at Goucher.
A 2002 graduate of Roanoke College, Pflugrad earned a business degree with a concentration in marketing. He was a four-time All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference team member, earning first team honors his junior and senior years. He was twice named NSCAA All-South Region team.
In December of 2003, he received a masters degree in education with a specialization in athletic program administration and leadership from Goucher College.

Kris Peat

Kris Peat enters his second season of his second stint coaching soccer at DU in the 2009 season. Peat returned to the University of Denver in May 2008 as a womens soccer assistant coach. He served as DUs assistant mens coach and womens goalkeeping coach in 1999-2000.
Peat most recently served as a volunteer assistant coach at Georgia State from 2006-08. Prior to Georgia State, Peat was the assistant/goalkeeper coach for the Atlanta Beat of the Womens United Soccer Association in 2003. During that time, Peat worked with a number of local soccer clubs that included Cobb F.C., Tophat and Atlanta Youth Soccer Association. He also worked with the Olympic Development Programs in Colorado and Georgia, serving as both coach and goalkeeper instructor. When the WUSA folded in 2003, Peat accepted the role of Director of Coaching for the Atlanta Youth Soccer Association in 2004 and worked closely with the board of directors and Executive Director Nel Fettig on all aspects of the club. Peat holds a USSF A license.
Peats coaching career began with Wichita United in Wichita, Kan. He coached several boys and girls teams with the club and served as their goalkeeper director from 1992-99. After leaving Wichita, Peat accepted a coaching position at DU as the assistant mens coach and womens goalkeeper coach. He was also very active in youth soccer in Denver, where he was the goalkeeper director for Littleton United in 1999 and held the same position with the Colorado Rush in 1999-2000.
Peat played professional soccer from 1988-99 with the Albany Capitals of the American Soccer League, Los Angeles Lazers and Cleveland Crunch of the MISL, LA United of the World United Soccer League, and the Wichita Wings from 1989-99, where he earned all-star status during the 1992 and 1993 seasons. Peat retired in 1999 from professional soccer and his jersey was retired by the Wichita Wings organization in 2000.
A 1984 graduate of Vernon High School (N.J.), Peat attended North Carolina State University from 1984-87, where he received Adidas and Parade All-American honors in 1982 and 1983 as a goalkeeper. During this time Peat was a member of the U18 Youth National team from 1982-84. As a four-year starter at N.C. State, Peat captained the team in 1986 and was named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference team in 1984 and All-ACC Tournament team in 1987. Peat still holds the team records for most saves in a single season with 145 in 1987 and career shutouts with 27, and he is second in career saves with 416.

Katie Hooker

Katie Hooker, formerly Katie Antongiovanni, enters her sixth season as an assistant coach with the Pioneers in 2009.
After a record-setting collegiate career at Denver and Iowa State, Antongiovanni was drafted by the Atlanta Beat of the Women's United Soccer Association (WUSA) before being traded to the San Jose Cyber Rays in 2003.
Antongiovanni brings her skills and experience back to the Pioneers. She received numerous awards and honors during her collegiate career. In 2001, Antongiovanni received SBC Newcomer of the Year, Soccer Buzz All-America Honorable Mention, NSCAA All-Central Second Team, All-SBC First Team and All-SBC Tournament Team. In 2002, she shined again, receiving the 2002 SBC Most Outstanding Player award, and was named to the All-SBC First Team and Tournament Team, and NSCAA All-Central Region First Team.
At Iowa State she was named Big 12 Rookie of the Year in 1999 along with Second-Team All-Big 12 and all-conference tournament team. In 2000, Antongiovanni was named First-Team All-Big 12 and First-Team All-Academic Big 12.
